History of Sanyo Foods in Japan
1953 NOV.
Our first noodle factory "Fuji Seimen Inc." was established in Gunma, Japan and Fumio Ida became the first president. Fumio Ida and Takeshi Ida previously ran an alcohol distribution business and eventually expanded to sell dried noodles. This was the first step in developing Sanyo Foods.
1961
Fumio Ida and Takeshi Ida began manufacturing instant noodles and dry noodles at the same time and change the company name to Sanyo Foods Co., Ltd.
1963
Established Taihi Food Industry Inc. Piyopiyo Ramen went on sale and began TV advertisement. Sanyo Foods advertised on TV nationwide for the first time.
1964
The main factory was completed in Gunma, Japan. Nagasaki Tanmen went on sale. It created a sensation as the first salt-flavored local ramen in the industry.
1966
Began selling Sapporo Ichiban Original Flavor. Kansai factory was built in Osaka, Japan.
1968
Began selling Sapporo Ichiban Miso Ramen.
1971
Began Selling Sapporo Ichiban Shio Ramen.
1978
Sanyo Foods Corp. of America established itself in Garden Grove, California.
1981
Sanyo Foods Co., Ltd. formed an alliance with Acecook Co., Ltd.
1998
Began selling Sapporo Ichiban Donburi (Noodle Bowl).
1999
Made an equity participation with Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp.
