Omu Yakisoba

Omu Yakisoba
An omelette and yakisoba dream
A Taste of Japan
Japanese cuisine is an incredible diverse catalogue of dishes that sometimes meet in a crossover no one could have predicted but everyone adores. Omu Yakisoba is one of those crossovers.
“Omu Yakisoba” is a Japanese dish combining “Omu” (short for “Omelette”) and yakisoba. Both of these individual dishes are beloved as Japanese comfort food, so their eventual combination was more likely than you’d expect.
In Japan, you can find Omu Yakisoba being sold by street vendors or in the supermarket as a quick grab-and-go meal. And with this recipe, you can find in your very own kitchen!
Serves: 1
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pack Sapporo Ichiban Chow Mein
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp oil
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Pickled red ginger (optional)
Directions
Cook the Sapporo Ichiban Chow Mein according to the package instructions. Stir-fry until the noodles are well coated with the sauce.
In a frying pan, heat the oil and pour in the beaten eggs. Spread the egg thinly on the pan to make a giant, extremely flat omelette.
Place the cooked noodles from step 1 in the center of the omelette. Gently fold the omelette around the noodles.
Flip it so the seam of the omelette is on the bottom.
Serve and enjoy! Add sauces like ketchup for extra flavor.
